FCG has long experience in implementing large, multi-sector rural development projects covering the whole value chain from crop, fish, livestock and wood / non-timber forest production to marketing of the products (agribusiness, farming as business
For developing viable and sustainable markets for farm products, business has to be profitable for all partners in the value chain: input deliverers, farmers, fish and timber / NTFP producers, intermediaries, processors, wholesalers and retailers. We believe that transferring subsistence agriculture into small scale food and fish production and to profitable business is possible when farmers have access to required business knowledge and financial resources. The business training stimulates change in farmers’ attitudes by creating business-minded farmers empowered to plan, produce, market and keep and use records. We support the capacity building of ministries and public and private actors at national, provincial and district levels as well as support governments and private sector in creating enabling business environments for rural investments and public private partnerships.
