Agriculture Sector Development Program – Project Preparation Technical Assistance (TA 8690-NEP)

The project, with emphasis on the nation of Nepal provided preparatory technical assistance contributing towards the project design and feasibility study for the Agriculture Sector Development Program (ASDP). The TA

• Assessed the economic viability of ASDP;
• Explored options for private sector involvement in delivering key outputs including agribusiness development; (iii) conducted sector and policy analysis;
• Prepared the program framework of ASDP;
• Reviewed and updated safeguard measures; and (vi) prepared the envisaged project interventions.

The TA prepared the design and monitoring framework, economic and financial analysis, program framework and policy matrix, financial management assessment, cost estimates and financing plan, procurement plan, terms of reference for consulting services, plan for improving economic opportunities for women, and disadvantaged groups, social and environmental safeguards, a capacity-building plan for local government institutions and various ministries, implementation arrangements, and implementation schedule.
