Çöpler Gold Mining Project Phase Two – Social Program Management and Planning Assistance

ORGUT is working for Alacer Gold Corporation and its Turkish subsidiary Anagold Madencilik Sanayi Ve Ticaret A. Ş. on the Çöpler Project. The Project is located in the bowl-shaped Çöpler valley in eastern Turkey, approximately 500 km east of Ankara and approximately 100 km southwest of the provincial capital of Erzincan. The Client has already developed Phase 1 of the Çöpler Mine, and it is currently mining an oxide gold deposit by opencast mining method. The Client wishes to expand the mine and expand its life by developing a sulfide deposit.

ORGUT’s role is to provide technical advice on compliance with IFC’s Policy and Performance Standards on Social and Environmental Sustainability, international best practice and Equator Principles. The work is carried out in close collaboration with Alacer Gold and Anagold’s Senior mine management and the Community Relations Department on the mine site.
