Gender Conference

SIPU arranged a 3-day conference on Gender for all countries in former Soviet Union. In all some 60 persons participated in the Conference. The participants basically represented governmental agencies and NGOs from the Former Soviet Union (FSU). Along with speeches made by participants numerous presentations were given by gender experts from the World Bank and Swedish public administration. In addition to plenary thematic sessions (Violence against women, Labour market, legislation and statistics) country cases were presented. Group works on above themes resulted in recommendations and action plans.
