Technical assistance for implementing the programme to support civil society in the Republic of Guinea (PASOC)
The project covered the 2014-2017 period and aimed to support the process of repositioning Guinean civil society, via building up its capacities, so that it could play its role to the full as a party involved in development and a political spokesperson, particularly as regards governance. Specifically it entailed:
— building up proficiency among civil society organisations (CSOs) operating in the field of governance,
— calling on CSO expertise in order to become fully involved in local development, especially via governance actions,
— improving CSO access to knowledge and resources available at national and international levels,
— strengthening consultation and dialogue between the CSOs themselves and between CSOs, government departments and parties involved in development.
