FCG Finnish Consulting Group Ltd has acquired the entire share capital of the engineering office Asplan Oy Insinööritoimisto in a transaction completed on 9 September 2013.
The transaction will strengthen the competence of FCG’s Design and Engineering business in the fields of new buildings and renovation.
Asplan is an HPAC and building automation design office specialising in demanding projects. Its special expertise includes renovation planning for demanding projects, public and office buildings, life cycle projects and geoenergy projects.
“This transaction implements FCG’s strategy by strengthening and complementing FCG’s service portfolio, expertise and resources, especially in the fields of new buildings and renovation,” says the CEO of FCG, Ari Kolehmainen.
Asplan’s recent references include Finland’s largest individual logistics centre and geoenergy project in Sipoo, UPM Corporation’s new head office next to the Helsinki Music Centre, and the Life and Living Centre in Kauklahti, Espoo, which uses geothermal energy to heat and cool the building.
Asplan’s owners, Harry Stenvall and Reijo Auvinen, and other employees will transfer to FCG. The Asplan transaction will become effective on 1 October 2013. Asplan’s customer agreements will also remain in force under their existing terms and conditions.
