Agriculture Science and Technology Project

The project helped to design a loan project to strengthen the agricultural science and technology sector in Vietnam. In order to do that, a participative approach was adopted, involving all sector stakeholders and the various departments, ministries, and institutions that undertake agricultural research and education in Vietnam. The project focused upon the current issues in the sector, assessed the constraints and formulated investment proposals and preparation of a feasibility study. The study assessed the merit of the development of a regional institute for agriculture development and it also included the preparation of a pre-feasibility and feasibility study in line with the Government of Vietnam requirements for investment projects. The social and environmental effects of the proposed investment project were assessed as well.
