The overall objective of this project was to asses and review the existing pumping stations, reservoir sites and wells that are exposed to power shortage and off grid including identification suitable alternative power sources for each site and propose designs and procurement options for alternative sources of power.

The consultancy outputs included:
• Assessment and review the exiting power sources to identify the problems and to propose technical design solutions;
• Proposed remedial solutions for identified problems through different methodology to protect the shortage of power and process improvement approach and produce detail design report for specific assignment;
• Identifying the specific problems in different sites found in AAWSA and analyze how to improve;
• Identifying and quantifying specific demands for which the provision of alternative power is needed;
• Carrying out all the required engineering surveys and investigations such as topographical survey and existing condition of the proposed area etc. as applicable to the concerned project component;
• Preparation of proposal of construction of methodology including how to access and manage the power;
• Prepare the engineering design by referring different site condition of the project in sufficient detail to ensure clarity and understanding by the implementation unit and other relevant stakeholders;
• The design shall be prepared in close consultation with, and to meet the requirement of, the AAWSA and will be incorporated in to a detailed design report to be submitted for approval of the AAWAS project office;
• Proposals for the technically approved and environmentally friendly designs;
• Preparation of contract documents and tender packages with appropriate procurement methods.
