"Lake Line” main transmission line is being reinforced to support the resilience of energy infrastructure and to advance green transition in Finland. FCG has designed a 130 km section of the line. FCG's design included landowner surveys, terrain surveys, investment planning, foundation planning and the preparation of the general design materia.

Fingrid Oyj is Finland’s transmission system operator with mission to secure the supply of energy in all circumstances and to promote a clean, market-based power system.

FCG has supported Fingrid in designing a new transmission line between Vaala and Joroinen to strengthen the so-called lake line. The total length of the transmission line is approximately 291 kilometres, of which FCG share is 130km. The reinforced lake line is used to ensure and maintain the high reliability of the grid as power transmission increases. New and reinforced power transmission connections from Northern Finland help to replace the fossil fuel based power production in Southern Finland, which promotes the achievement of Finland's climate targets and maintains sufficient electricity in Finland.
