The project Driving Sustainable Change for Children’s Rights (DSCCR) was designed by Save the Children Sweden (SCS)and Save the Children Zambia (SCZ). The project stems from SCZ’s strategic plan for 2019 to 2021 and was based on a thorough analysis of the children’s rights in Zambia and also on learnings from achievements from the child rights programme implemented with Sida funding between 2013-2017. The current support from Sida is expected to contribute to one of the sub-goals of the Swedish Cooperation Strategy for Zambia for the period 2018-2023 which is: “Improved capacity and increased democratic space to promote and strengthen human rights, democracy and the rule of law”, under the strategy area Human rights, democracy, the rule of law and gender equality. Sida expects the DSCCR project to increase the participation of children and their communities in demanding accountability for the realization of children’s rights in Zambia. The purpose of this evaluation is to provide an end-of-project evaluation thereby providing the project partners and Sida/the Swedish Embassy in Lusaka with an independent, evidence-based assessment of the extent to which the project objectives were achieved, what the outcomes are, and determine how these will be sustained.
