Ex post evaluation of the project for Institutional Restructuring of the Office of the Forestry Superintendent (PRINS) 2003-2006. Counterpart organization: Office of the Forestry Superintendent of Bolivia.

The Project objective was to “Conserve national forest land and maintain the land Ander sustainable land use to reduce poverty and within a transparent institutional framework respecting the rule of law.

The specific objective was: “Provide the Office of the Forestry Superintendent of Bolivia with an organizational and administrative structure, a strategic plan , an information and communication system and internal procedures that are functional in the implementation of forest policies.” The aim was to develop the institution through simple and swift procedures, well prepared local offices, development projects based in a common vision, mission statement and implementation strategies, utilizing adequate information and communication technology.

Main activities were to develop strategies and institutional plans for the forest sector, and to implement the same, as well as support to the information flow. Beneficiaries were the forest sector in general, forest owners, forest industrial actors, through the institutional strengthening of the Office of the Forestry Superintendent of Bolivia.
