Increasing the Effectiveness of the Zambian Dairy Processors Association (ZDPA)

ORGUT provided the Team Leader for an institutional assessment of the Zambian Dairy Processors Association (ZDPA) which was implemented together with staff from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the Board of Directors of the ZDPA. Support to the ZDPA over the past four years has been channelled through the PROFIT project funded by USAID. The study included field trips to dairies and to dairy farms in different parts of the country to gather a picture of raw material supply to the industry, in addition to challenges facing the industry. The in-depth interviews and field data collection resulted in an analysis of the present strengths and weaknesses of the ZDPA and a roadmap for the way forward for the organization.
