Manual for capacity building

In line with Sida’s long-running ambitions of a thorough understanding in the area of capacity building in developing countries SIPU International was asked to, in cooperation with Sida Policy division, write a manual on the topic at hand. Other than the actual writing of the manual, SIPU International was together with one other consultant hired as educator, running seminars on capacity building for Sida and other Swedish institutions in the development aid field. During seminars information was gathered from the participants regarding their weaknesses and strengths on the topic. Thereafter, SIPU International, with the support from Ingemar Gustafsson and Erik Illes (Sida), wrote the manual on capacity building support. The aim with the manual was to pose strategic questions and give the reader concrete ideas which could be used for the development of more effective support in capacity building projects.
