Fifteen years of Russian-Swedish development cooperation ended in 2008. The RUSSIAN-SWEDISH FORUM hosted by Sida and organized in St. Petersburg 10-11 of June gave the opportunity for around 650 project owners and high representatives of the Russian and Swedish Governments (Totally 260 Swedish/International and 430 Russian participants.) to meet with the purpose of sharing experiences of the cooperation and discussing formats and orientation of future mutual collaboration. The two-day program covered three focal areas of cooperation: issues relating to democracy the social sector and the environment.

The conference was documented in a film to be distributed to all participants and also serve as guidelines for similar events. The FORUM became a model for exit conferences in countries where Sida will phase out grant support.
