On behalf of the Swedish Forestry Association, ORGUT carried out a study on results of climate-related major forestry undertakings with a pro-poor approach with the aim of establishing criteria for selecting new Swedish interventions in the forestry sector. The experts analyzed categories of planned and ongoing forest undertakings aimed at reduced deforestation (mitigation) at national or local levels, paying special attention to their effectiveness in economic terms as well as regarding climate, poverty reduction and sustainability. The consultants also defined crucial themes that a results-oriented design process for new programs in the forestry sector needs to consider.
