Rural Development Project in Trieu Phong District in Vietnam

A Norwegian funded Integrated Rural Development project in the coastal area of Trieu Phong District, Quang Tri Province which included a number of components, e.g. rural electrification, shrimp farming, micro-credit, resettlement, rural access roads. This project was one of the first large projects in Vietnam (total value EUR 2,9 million) that was directly executed and implemented by the district and by commune levels and very specifically targeted the poorest people in the poorest communes in the province. Basic principles of the project were to integrate all relevant stakeholders in the planning process.
