The project objective was to develop public financial management in Mozambique through support to the development of a new accounting model and system for the government finances and a new legal framework.

The project was organised with components for training, accounting and IT support. Development efforts included a new state financial management law, which was adopted by Government, a draft procurement legislation, a new chart of accounts and codes, technical specification of an IFMIS system, extensive training modules, materials and courses, management training in results-based management for the MoF, process mapping techniques etc.
