Support to Sida’s Project Group for Capacity Building in the Agricultural Sector

The assignment was carried out by conducting an internal survey of Sida’s desk officers as to their needs for external institutional support.

In-depth interviews were carried out with several institutions, primarily within the various faculties of the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, the Swedish Agricultural Institute, The Swedish Food Policy Research Institute, the University of Lund, the Nordic Institute for African Studies and the Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry.

The results of these interviews and analysis were documented and then discussed in a sector wide seminar held in September of 2007.

The second half of the assignment involved designing and budgeting an Agricultural Network Initiative.
