SARDP is a participatory rural development programme funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperative Agency (Sida). It covers the East Gojjam and South Wallo zones of the Amhara National Regional State (ANRS). The overall objective of SARDP is to contribute to poverty reduction in the target woredas. The focus is to support community development at the woreda level where the capacity for development planning, implementation and delivery of services will be strengthened in order to reduce poverty and improve rural livelihoods.

Cognisant that gender equality is an issue of development effectiveness, this assignment is to: “prepare an updated ‘Gender Mainstreaming Strategy for the Sida-Amhara Rural Development Programme (SARDP).
