The project supported the development of an Integrated Development Plan for the municipality, in concurrence with South African policies and directions for how such an IDM shall be devised. The project resources advised on how plans should actually be constructed based on international experiences and benchmarking.The project concentrated on the following areas:

  • General support to the IDP process and selected planning activities such as Spatial Planning, Cultural Heritage and Local Economic Development
  • Transportation and Traffic Safety
  • Environment
  • Local Agenda 21
