The rapid growth of renewable, distributed generation is creating urgent development needs for the transmission network: alongside maintaining existing connections and increasing capacity, building new transmission links is becoming increasingly necessary.

FCG provides electricity transmission design from the earliest phases through to implementation. Our services cover feasibility and outline design, and all stages of consenting and permitting. By combining strong environmental expertise with technical know-how, we ensure cost-effective route planning.

Dynamic design for acceptability and cost-effectiveness

Dynamic design, enabled by close dialogue between environmental impact specialists and technical designers, improves project deliverability and public acceptability, and enhances the cost-effectiveness of the design process.

We have delivered Environmental Impact Assessments and the EIA procedure for several transmission line projects whose EIA processes have received the annual Hyvä YVA award. In 2019, the Hyvä YVA award was given to Caruna Oy for the EIA procedure for the Seinäjoki–Jurva 110 kV transmission line, for which we acted as lead consultant.
